Solenoid Valves
Pneumax solenoid valves can be seen as the heart of a pneumatic control system, converting an electrical impulse into a pneumatically powered linear movement. The Pneumax range of pneumatic control solenoid valves can be divided into two types the 3/2 and 5/2 solenoid valves.
3/2 solenoid valves
are used to control the movement of single acting or sprung cylinders, this only requires the pressure to be
applied to one side of the cylinder giving the movement when the signal is released, the cylinder will return due to the force from the spring.
The 3/2 solenoid valve is also used as an on/off valve in some control circuits. Our catalogue carries a range of 3/2 valves - to find them look under
direct acting solenoid valves, 400 series and solenoid operated poppet valves.
5/2 solenoid valves
Commonly used to control the movement of double acting cylinders allowing the air alternately to one side of the cylinder and then to the other.
Pneumax have a wide range of 5/2 solenoid valves to suit all applications and sizes - to find these valves look
in the catalogue under 400 series solenoid valves, 800 series solenoid valves, ISO solenoid valves and 2000 series solenoid valves.
The Pneumax range of direct acting solenoid valves are used in low flow applications and can be supplied as either a single valve or on a manifold. The valves come in 2 types, stem actuated (M) and coil actuated (S).
The Pneumax 400 series solenoid valves are 1/8"bsp, 1/4"bsp, 1/2"bsp and 1"bsp solenoid piloted spool valves. Pneumax manufacture these solenoid valves with an aluminium body, chrome steel spool and NBR seals, this makes for a robust valve suitable for most applications.
The Pneumax poppet solenoid valves are made in sizes from 1/4" bsp to 1 1/2" bsp and are suitable for use with compressed air or
vacuum systems.
ISO solenoid valves made by Pneumax are manufactured to ISO 5599/1 in three sizes and with single and manifold bases available in all sizes.
Pneumax 800 series solenoid valves are technopolymer bodied valves available 1/8"bsp and 1/4"bsp
and they can be used as either a bsp ported valve or gang mounted on a manifold that can contain up to 10 valves.
